I didn’t know this. Mūsu Moose sounds even better! Mūsu Moose it is!
I am but a cog in a machine. A lazy one though.

Missing the pop-tart body, otherwise we could have had a wild Nyan Moose
If it’s something that is not very popular/known I do actually look at the code, but never all of it.
I check:
This is of course very superficial and in general I try to avoid obscure projects that are not popular and well known.
Another awesome tip I’ve learned today, thanks! Yeah often I remember the actual day I typed a specific command but must manually scroll through. This is another useful tip. I don’t think I’ll completely let go of history since it’s also super convenient to just look up index and type !345 for example.
I feel like I forget those that I just don’t use often enough, and when I would need them I default to what I know (which is always a slower way than knowing a shortcut) in a “hurry”.
Guess I should just print them and tape the paper next to my monitor.
I used !<index>
Together with history
by giving an index displayed in the history list, but did not know that you can use it like that! Also didn’t know about ^
Thanks for the tips!
This is why I follow linux memes, I don’t know if I have ever bumped into CTRL+R but I finally can let go of
history
Honestly this has crossed my mind several times as another reason why people don’t put the phone on their ear. You might be on to something!
I’m convinced people forgot that our huge handheld devices are supposed to still be mobile phones that you are supposed to put against your ear when you call someone.
Oida
Not sure if it makes a difference, just want to dump info here:
Feddit.org is owned by an austrian non-profit, so I assume it’s the Austrian law that they have to follow.
fediverse.foundation is their page.
Doubling down after realization -technique, I like your style.
“I’ve done it again” you say in your mind before you’ve even stopped oversharing
The points are made up and thankfully we don’t have similar karma system as reddit, but your overall received upvote/downvote score ratio between a certain timespan is being evaluated by automod bots, because lemmy is still developing better moderation tools.
Info about the one bot I know: https://slrpnk.net/post/11069853
Edit: added word.
“Aand your first pet’s name, I challenge you!”
This stupid trend (and many more like it) was most likely started by someone phishing for security questions of accounts honestly. But we were oblivious.
“I’m bored anyone wanna hang out?” or “Let’s test if anyone remembers: write down when, where and how we met each other :-)”
Honestly my posts from back then were pretty mild. Some bit cringey but not too bad. I felt more embarassed about the stuff others wrote about me on my “profile wall” afraid that someone from my family sees it if they join facebook.
Edit: added a word.
Sadly it’s not FOSS (just mentioning since we are in FOSS community).
I would have paid for the one-time pro payment even if it was FOSS and was just to support developers. It’s really good.
Lol love the new username, fitting! :)
