I am but a cog in a machine. A lazy one though.

  • If it’s something that is not very popular/known I do actually look at the code, but never all of it.

    I check:

    • most recent commits
    • for something that might have been hidden before one of the releases
    • deeper into utility files
    • look for suspicious patterns in code that might be trying to hide something. Mostly for/in external network call related code

This is of course very superficial and in general I try to avoid obscure projects that are not popular and well known.

  • Another awesome tip I’ve learned today, thanks! Yeah often I remember the actual day I typed a specific command but must manually scroll through. This is another useful tip. I don’t think I’ll completely let go of history since it’s also super convenient to just look up index and type !345 for example.

  • “I’m bored anyone wanna hang out?” or “Let’s test if anyone remembers: write down when, where and how we met each other :-)”

Honestly my posts from back then were pretty mild. Some bit cringey but not too bad. I felt more embarassed about the stuff others wrote about me on my “profile wall” afraid that someone from my family sees it if they join facebook.

    Edit: added a word.
